Bioreference Labs Home Blood Draw

We at the National Phlebotomy Providers Network believe that everyone should have convenient, safe, and reliable access to quality healthcare. We strive to offer an affordable and high-quality alternative to having to go to a doctor’s office or lab to get your blood drawn.

By making an appointment through our online portal, you’ll be able to get a licensed and professional phlebotomist to come directly to your home, business, or long-term care facility.

We are a non-profit, nationwide organization that partners with doctor’s offices and labs across the country to make getting your lab tests done an easy and virtually painless process.

Does Bioreference offer home blood draws?

Rather than taking the time out of your day to go to a Bioreference center to have your blood work drawn, we have partnered with Bioreference to come directly to you.

Our professional phlebotomists will come directly to your home with everything that is needed to perform your blood draw. The safety of our patients is our highest priority, and our phlebotomists will strive to make the process friendly, quick, and as pain-free as possible.

Once the samples have been collected, you don’t need to do anything else. Our staff will carefully package your samples and hand-deliver them to the nearest Bioreference facility.

Do I have to have an appointment to get my blood drawn?

Appointments are necessary for us to send a phlebotomist to you for your blood draw. You can set the appointment for yourself, for someone in your care (such as an elderly family member), or if you are a doctor then you can set one on behalf of your patient.

In order to book an appointment, we will need a few pieces of information including

Can I get my blood drawn by Bioreference without a doctor’s referral?

We currently require an official laboratory requisition form from your doctor’s office, or another healthcare provider, to schedule your home blood draw. This is necessary not only to ensure that the proper tests are being drawn and performed, but also because it is required by most lab facilities.

In addition, when a doctor fills out your lab order form, they will add certain diagnostic codes that your insurance will use to determine if they will cover the cost of the tests or not. Having the proper documents filled out gives you the best chance of having no copay or a lower deductible.

What insurance do you take?

We work with the majority of insurance providers to help provide our service at no cost to those who are home-bound, of limited mobility, lack transportation, and more.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your insurance will cover the cost of an at-home blood draw. In cases where insurance does not cover the cost, a one-time fee will be charged which is typically no more than $99.

We will provide you with paperwork to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, but we also recommend checking with your insurance provider beforehand to know if they will cover the costs.

How do I get my Bioreference test results?

Most tests take an average of 24-48 hours to get results. This time period is dependent on several factors, however, and your results may take longer.

We will not contact you directly with your lab results. Per HIPPA regulations, once we have finished drawing your blood and submitting your samples for testing, we no longer have access to your patient file.

If you have not heard back from Bioreference within 3-5 days of having your blood drawn, reach out to them or to your doctor to see if your results have come in. Once your results have been sent to and reviewed by your doctor, they will contact you to go over your results.

Bioreference offers a convenient, HIPPA compliant patient portal through which you will be able to review your results once they become available. If you have any difficulty logging in, please contact their offices directly.

How many labs does Bioreference have?

Bioreference has labs located across the country, and we have partnered with them to offer our home blood draw services in as many metropolitan areas as possible.

The National Phlebotomy Provider Network has offices in most major cities. If you are unsure if we service your area, please reach out to our helpful support staff for more information.

Who do we work with?

We have partnered with a wide variety of clinical practitioners and care homes including but not limited to:

In addition, we also work with several laboratories that we can bring your samples to in order to be tested. Including Bioreference labs, we also work with Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and many other local and nationwide testing service providers.

What makes the National Phlebotomy Provider Network unique?

One of the most important things that stands us apart from other home blood draw services is that we partner with labs across the country. That means that no matter where your doctor wants your samples sent to, whether it’s Bioreference, Quest, LabCorp, or another lab, our trained phlebotomists will be able to deliver them there.

Due to this nationwide partnership program that we have invested in, that also makes us available in most major cities and metropolitan areas. This allows our services to be widely available, convenient, and affordable.

Finally, at the National Phlebotomy Provider Network, we strive to ensure that our talented phlebotomists are held to the highest of quality and care standards. We want your experience to be a pleasant, stress-free, and virtually painless experience.

If you have been unable to get your blood drawn due to being home-bound, due to a lack of transportation, or for any other reason, don’t hesitate any longer. Reach out to our team today to schedule your appointment and take control of your healthcare!
